Jinan City Drainage Network Water Quality Monitoring, Early Warning, and Traceability System
In accordance with the requirements of the Jinan City “14th Five-Year Plan” for the construction of urban sewage treatment facilities, there is a need to enhance the intelligent management level of sewage networks. In August 2022, Qingdao Jiaming undertook the “Jinan City Real-Time Visual Inspection Equipment Procurement Project” commissioned by the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment. This project involves deploying advanced real-time visual inspection equipment to establish a system comprising low-power, automated water-quality monitoring hardware sensing terminals coupled with a monitoring, early-warning, and traceability platform. By integrating “human defense” with “technical defense,” the project aims to achieve a transformative shift toward “visualization, precision, and intelligence” in the management of Jinan’s sewage networks. It will help address abnormal water quality issues, deter illegal and excessive discharges, and enable rapid assessment of water quality conditions upstream and downstream of sewage discharge points through its traceability and regulatory mechanism—making it a powerful “weapon” for tracking down the sources of illegal, unreported, and超标 (exceeding standards) discharges. At the same time, this system can also mitigate the impact of high loads or elevated concentrations of toxic and harmful substances in influent water entering sewage treatment plants, thereby protecting them from attacks caused by abnormal influent conditions.
